Gastronomy, music and culture with world-class curation in the heart of the Douro
Octant Douro will host the inaugural edition of the Octant Festival — a three-day celebration of the Douro region through fine dining, music, and cultural heritage — from October 24 to 26, 2025. Headlining the program are Grammy-nominated artist José González and an exceptional culinary showcase featuring seven chefs, six of them MICHELIN-starred, alongside RAIVA’s resident chef Dárcio Henriques.
Under the theme “All the Douro flows into Octant”, the festival offers an immersive experience of relaxed luxury, designed as an annual homage to the region’s culture and identity. The curation blends international talent with the essence of the Douro, spotlighting chefs, artisans, and producers whose work is deeply rooted in the land.
Filipe Bonina, Marketing Director at Discovery Hotel Management, notes:
“The Octant Festival embodies what we strive to represent every day in our hotels: the regions we belong to. We will celebrate the Douro from its source to its mouth, offering our guests a truly unique and exclusive experience.”
Guests can choose between a Saturday pass (October 25), which includes access to the music program and a MICHELIN-star-led dining experience, or a weekend pass (October 24–26), which offers a more immersive stay including accommodation at Octant Douro, full access to Saturday’s program, and exclusive guest-only activities.
A three-day sensory journey
Friday, October 24
The festival opens at sunset with an exclusive four-hands dinner at the acclaimed RAIVA Restaurant, hosted by resident chef Dárcio Henriques and guest Spanish chef Víctor Martín García. The evening concludes with an exclusive session by DJ Xinobi by the pool, under the star-filled Douro sky.
Saturday, October 25
The main day begins with wellness experiences. Lunch — also open to day visitors — will be helmed by Vasco Coelho Santos (one MICHELIN star, Chef of the Year 2023, and Garfo de Ouro) and Pedro Lemos (a pioneer of Portuguese haute cuisine, Chef of the Year 2025, and recipient of Porto’s first MICHELIN star). They will be joined by Portuguese chefs David Jesus — known for connecting people through food — and Óscar Geadas (one MICHELIN star since 2019). Representing Spain, Álvaro Hinojal Crespo (one MICHELIN star since 2022) and Sara Ferreres (one MICHELIN star and a Green Star) will complete the lineup. Together, they will craft signature dishes paired with a curated selection of Iberian wines, with special emphasis on the Douro’s excellence as host region. The highlight of the music program will be a live concert by José González, Grammy nominee and renowned for selling out legendary venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall. The bill also features pianist and composer Máximo Francisco, Orquestra das Beiras, Retimbrar, and Best Youth. In the afternoon, guests will enjoy an exclusive talk with Spanish philosopher Daniel Innerarity.
Sunday, October 26
The final day invites relaxation with a leisurely breakfast before check-out.
