Asiana Airlines launches Budapest-Seoul flight
Asiana Airlines has launched a new direct flight to Seoul, South Korea’s vibrant capital, where travelers can experience an exciting blend of tradition and modernity. With these two new weekly connections, combined with Korean Airlines’ existing flights, travelers can now fly daily from Budapest to this metropolis of traditional palaces and futuristic skyscrapers.
This brings the total number of seats available on the route to over 2000, which will amount to more than 170,000 seats in 2026. By improving connections to South Korea, this expansion further strengthens the Hungarian economy and business ties between the two countries.

“Asiana Airlines joining the network accessible from Budapest is an important milestone for both Budapest Airport and the Hungarian economy,With nearly 100,000 direct and 50,000 connecting passengers, South Korea is currently one of our most important intercontinental partner countries. The new flight opens up new opportunities for business and leisure travelers currently traveling by changing flights and further strengthens the steadily expanding economic and cultural ties between the Hungarian government and South Korea. The direct flight between the Hungarian capital and Seoul is already operating with high load factors, so we are confident in the success of this new connection.”
– said Máté Lóga, chairman of the Board of Directors of Budapest Airport.

The launch of the new flight further strengthens Budapest Airport’s Far East network, which now includes eight destinations in 2026: Beijing, Xi’an, Ningbo, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing in China, as well as Seoul in South Korea. This expansion clearly demonstrates the airport’s continued success in attracting major international carriers, particularly on long-haul and lower-traffic routes, and contributes to the growth of tourism to Hungary, bilateral trade and business travel between Asia and Hungary.
